Candlelight Christmas at This is the Place State Park

On Friday, December 23, our whole family went to the Candlelight Christmas at This is the Place State Park. It was pretty cold, and almost everything was outside (and dark), so we bundled up!

We loved looking at real reindeer (apparently having a territory battle)…

We enjoyed listening to traditional Christmas stories by the hearth…
Made some crafts...

Watched a puppet show…

Danced…

LOVED the live nativity…

Had fun on the train…
And warmed up with hot chocolate at the hotel…
What a fun addition to our Christmas season!

I love this place! I really wanted to get there this last Christmas but we didn't make it... maybe next year. Looks like you had a lot of fun.

I do not recommend historic farms in the dark. Especially ones with pitch-dark rock stairs. Stairs that you could fall down. Stairs that could break... oh, say... your foot. And you'd be in an orthopedic boot for 2 months. No, I can't recommend them at all.
