Princess Party

On Saturday, March 28, we celebrated Alice & Claire’s 6 month birthday. Marc & Frances had tickets to Pioneer Memorial Theatre that day, so Rara, Papa, Ryan and I tended the girls for the day. We had so much fun with them! Rara had made princess crowns for the girls, so we had a lot of fun posing them with their princess crowns. When Marc and Frances came home, we all celebrated with chocolate lava cake. Mmmmmm! It was very yummy, and even Alice and Claire had a little bit.The girls are so cute, and already have such distinct personalities. Claire is definitely more social. She smiles at everyone, and will let just about anyone hold her. She glances briefly at who is holding her, and then moves on to the next thing to see. She loves being in the middle of the social action. Even at our extended family Christmas party when the girls were only three months old, Claire wanted to watch the other kids breaking the piñata. She loved being right in the middle of things with the whole gang. These days, she has apparently decided that she is no longer a baby. She refuses to eat from her bottle, but loves her cereal and fruit. Her mommy and daddy have even started using a sippy cup to get her to drink!Claire loves being active, and won’t snuggle very long with anyone. She is also very vocal about her wants. If something isn’t happening on her terms, she makes it known. But who would know that from this cute little face? ;) Alice is almost completely opposite. She takes a little longer to warm up to people. She studies faces, never breaking her stare. She often feels the face of the person holding her. She loves playing with her daddy’s whiskers when he is holding her. She is a snuggler, and (if you have earned her trust) will snuggle with you for hours. Alice knows she is still a baby, and embraces it. She enjoys the serenity of her bottle time, and is not enjoying this new spoon-feeding business! At our family Christmas party, Alice quickly grew tired of all of the loud conversation of the adults and excited squeals of the kids. She preferred snuggling in a quiet corner away from the action. She has the sweetest disposition, and is generally a pretty mellow baby.I couldn't resist. Alice was chillin' on the couch enthralled with Ryan's movie. She looked like she needed the remote in her hand.
We love having them in our family, and are excited to watch these little personalities continue to develop.
