Ryan played in his last baseball game of the summer on Thursday, July 3. He ended the season in style, hitting his THIRD grand slam of the season!
At this age, the coaches rotate the kids’ positions so they learn all of the different positions. Ryan played first base, second base, and third base in his last game. He got one kid out on second base, two out on third base, and THREE out on first base! He is a great player, both offensively and defensively. His coaches are really going to miss him the last couple of games.
At the beginning of the season, I ran into a good friend of mine from junior high and high school. She has a son Ryan’s age who played baseball this year, so it was fun to see her and visit with her throughout the season. We ended up playing them that last game we attended. About halfway through the game, we realized that our kids were the same jersey number! We decided we definitely needed pictures of us with our boys…both from the front and from the back. :) Our local 4th of July celebration is held annually on the 3rd of July. Since so many festivities occur in Salt Lake on the 4th, North Salt Lake City has a carnival and HUGE fireworks on the 3rd. We go every year. So, after Ryan’s baseball game, we headed for the celebration. We knew we would be out of fireworks range for the 4th, so we made sure we enjoyed them. It’s always a great show.
