The HAST (Hilltop Aquatic Swim Team) meet is probably the biggest meet in the long course season. The HAST meet is where Ryan won his very first medal (not ribbon) last year. It always goes from Wednesday to Saturday, either the last week in June or the first week of July. Events are usually in the morning for the younger kids and evening for the older kids (the “Invitational”). Since Ryan’s Citizenship in the Nation class was every morning, we were only able to go to the HAST meet on Saturday, July 9. Because we were only there one day, Ryan only swam three events – the 50 backstroke, 50 butterfly, and 200 freestyle.
